The foundry specializes in creating all the alloys needed to make 
Oritech machines. 
While some of these alloys can be crafted by hand, doing so consumes 
significantly more resources than using the foundry.

As soon as your power and ore flow are stable, the foundry becomes the efficient way to make progression alloys such as steel, electrum, adamant, biosteel, energite, and more.

If you are still hand-crafting alloys, this is usually the machine that pays for itself fastest.
