# Self-feeding

When a held or equipped living item with the enchantment is damaged, every 30 ticks (~1.5 seconds)
randomly pick an item with the enchantment. And consume fresh raw meat food,
[](@biomancy:nutrient_paste) or [](@biomancy:nutrient_bar) from the players hotbar. 
(It picks the item that wastes the least amount of nutrients when consumed to heal the item.)
