Jetpacks are chest-slot flight equipment that can run on either stored
energy or turbofuel. Energy is easy to top up from normal power systems,
while the internal turbofuel tank must be filled through an
[equipment charger](@oritech:charger_block).

Holding jump activates a normal jetpack. Jetpacks cannot be toggled on
and off, so flight control is based entirely on when you apply thrust.
Turbofuel makes every variant much faster than using energy alone. There's no hover mode.

### Variants

- **Jetpack**: The basic flight pack. It stores **100,000 RF** and **4 buckets** of fuel, uses **128 RF/t** or **10 mB/t** of turbofuel, charges at **1,024 RF/t**, and has a base speed of **0.4**.
- **Exo Jetpack**: The heavy-duty upgrade. It stores **5,000,000 RF** and **32 buckets** of fuel, uses **256 RF/t** or **15 mB/t** of turbofuel, charges at **10,000 RF/t**, and has a base speed of **1.5**.
- **Boosted Elytra**: The glider variant of the basic jetpack. It uses the same storage and fuel figures as the basic jetpack, but only applies thrust while you are already gliding, with a speed value of **0.6**.
- **Boosted Exo Elytra**: The high-end elytra-assisted version. It uses the exo jetpack's storage, fuel, and charging stats, applies thrust only while gliding, and has a speed value of **1.4**.

### Practical Differences

The exo variants do more than hold more fuel. They climb faster, push you
forward harder, and also charge equipped energy items while worn.
That makes the [exo jetpack](@oritech:exo_jetpack) and
[boosted exo elytra](@oritech:jetpack_exo_elytra) especially useful with
tools such as the [hand drill](@oritech:hand_drill),
[chainsaw](@oritech:chainsaw), and [portable laser](@oritech:portable_laser).

The elytra variants work differently from the normal jetpacks. Instead
of acting like vertical flight packs, they improve gliding and replace the
need for fireworks with repeated upward boosts during flight.
