Uranium and plutonium are the high-density energy sources used to power nuclear reactors.

**Uranium** is naturally occurring ore found deep underground. It can be processed into fuel pellets for standard reactor operation.

**Plutonium** is a stronger fuel source obtained by destroying uranium crystals with an [enderic laser](@oritech:laser_arm_block). It can also be created with
particle collisions.

Raw ores must be processed through a [pulverizer](@oritech:pulverizer_block) and [centrifuge](@oritech:centrifuge_block)
to create enriched pellets. These pellets are consumed inside [nuclear reactors]($reactor/introduction) to generate very large amounts of energy.
