Energy transmission poles send power across large distances. They are usually built on elevated platforms and can only be linked to other transmission poles.
To link them, use a target designator item by shift-clicking the first pole, then shift-clicking the second. A single pole can link to any number of poles. Any interconnected poles will also share energy, allowing you to build large networks.
Energy can be inserted and extracted from any pole within an interconnected transmission pole network. Energy can be inserted at the green port, and extracted at the red port. The maximum transmission rate across the network is limited to 1M RF/t.

The Transmission Poles are designed for long-range energy transport only, but also don't have infinite range. They need to be built at least 50 blocks apart to connect, and have a max range of 1000 blocks.
A pipe wrench can be used to zipline along power pole cables. To do so, click on a cable while holding the wrench.
