A letter is a letter and quill that has been folded,
which prevents its text from being edited and allows copies of it to be crafted.
Can be sealed, mailed or placed on a wall.
Obtaining
Folding
Letters can be obtained by folding a letter and quill. After it has been folded, it cannot be edited again.
Unlike written books, letters do not have title or an author.
Copying
A folded letter can be copied using a crafting table by crafting it with letter and quill.
Letters do not have a generation and can be copied indefinitely.
Usage
Letters can be opened by pressing the use control, to display a GUI allowing the player to read it.
While the GUI is open, item in player's hand will reflect the open state, showing an unfolded model.
Placing
Letters can be placed on a wall by pressing the use control while sneaking. Clicking on a placed letter will open the same reading GUI as the item.
Placed letter does not have a collision, and will drop if the block it's attached to is broken.

Visual effect that makes a letter look torn and faded. Item type is not changed by tattering.
Tattering occurs when a fox spits out a letter from its mouth.
