Shield Platings

Shield Platings can be used to upgrade your shields to their "Plated" variant. Plated shields have a higher durability but are heavier meaning that the cooldown when your shield is disabled (hit by an axe) is longer.

Basic Platings

For iron, copper, gold and diamond, shield platings can be crafted by combining 4 ingots of the respective material with 5 planks of any type.

Netherite Shield Plating

Netherite shield platings are slightly more difficult to craft, you will need to upgrade a diamond shield plating to a netherite shield plating. This can be done by combining a diamond shield plating with a netherite ingot in the smithing table using a netherite upgrade template.

Applying your Plating

You can apply your shield plating to your shield by placing the shield and the plating in an anvil. The plating will be consumed in the process.
