Blocks and Items

A Very Fine Item

When eaten, A Very Fine Item will send you back to your respawn point.

Ant Block

An implementation of the Langton's Ant algorithm, it is a block that moves when placed on white and black blocks and transmutes them to opposite color. Placing it on a transfinite altar also spawns a miniboss.

Biome Bottle

Biome Bottles allow for changing the surrounding biome to one obtained from a Chaos Creeper.

  • Empty ones are obtainable by throwing Glass Bottles into an Infinity Portal.
  • Using a Biome Bottle on a Chaos Creeper will extract the biome from the Creeper into the bottle.
  • You can combine them with other bottles of the same biome to increase stored charge in the crafting grid.
  • You can release the biome by placing the Biome Bottle on a Transfinite Altar, and then clicking the altar with an empty hand.

Black and white matter

Crafting ingredients.

Box of Infinite Books

The Box of Infinite Books will give an infinite amount of the same book, determined by the block's position in the world. Move the Book Box, you'll get new books.

  • The Box of Infinite Books is craftable by throwing Bookshelf blocks into an Infinity Portal.

Chromatic Wool, carpets and matter

These are wool blocks that can be tinted any tone and colour! Throwing any wool or carpet into infinity portals gives you these blocks in the colour of the portal. A two wool into three carpet recipe also works!

The colour can be further modified by using a variety of items on the block. Black and white matter turn the brightness of the colour up and down, amethyst shards and footprints modify saturation, and an Iridescent Star shifts the hue.

Chromatic Matter is obtained by throwing black or white matter into an infinity portal. It can be used to copy and paste colour between wool and carpet blocks of both chromatic and vanilla varieties: shift-right-click to copy, right-click to paste.

Cosmic Altar

This block's purpose is not yet implemented.

F4

This item is a powerful tool that can place and break nether or infinity portals instantly. Clicking it on a portal absorbs the entire portal structure, while clicking on a block (or pressing F4 while holding the item) creates one, provided there is sufficient space.

To create portals, the item needs to have enough obsidian in its internal charge; to charge it, combine with obsidian in the crafting grid. Absorbed portals also add towards the charge.

The dimensions of the portal can be changed in the settings menu (opened by clicking the item into air), and the destination dimension of portals can be set by throwing the item into an infinity portal of the same destination.

Footprint

Footprint items can be thrown to the portal to make it exit-only. Such portals serve as valid destinations for teleporting from any dimension in case a dedicated portal for that dimension can not be found. Useful in multiplayer to prevent generation of new exit portals around your base if someone else overwrites the original portal.

Iridescence

Iridescence is a colourful fluid that, when touched, gives the player colourful shaders. When drank from a bottle (clicking it with a glass bottle gives you the iridescent potion), it has a more potent effect that also sends you on a journey through random dimensions; this has a cooldown, and gives a small buff to speed and haste as an aftereffect.

Iridescence will also convert mobs that touched it to their chaos variety (skeletons, creepers, slimes and chess-coloured pawns). Chaos Creepers will absorb the essence of the biome in which they are in when converted, which can be quite useful when paired with Biome Bottles.

Iridescent Star

A crafting ingredient for late-game items (at the moment, F4 and the Cosmic Altar). Obtained by throwing a Star of Lang into iridescence while under the effect (will change in the future).

Iridescent Wool and carpets

Decorative blocks with a vibrant texture that slowly shifts its hue through the colour circle. Obtained by throwing any wool into iridescence while under the effect.

Infinity Portal

The Infinity Portal is the base of the mod. Throwing a Book and Quill, Written Book, or Transfinite Key into a Nether Portal will convert it into a colourful and random Infinity Portal.

  • Infinity Portals can also be used for Portal Crafting, tossing various items in will result in them changing form (TNT to Reset Charge, Lectern to Transfinite Altar, etc.) A full list of crafting recipes can be found in EMI.

Music Disc

These discs can be obtained from chaos creepers when they are killed by skeletons, and the music selection on them is much wider than that of regular creepers; it can have any song in the game burned on it (defined with custom tags). The ones in the creative inventory lack these tags and do not play anything, but can be burned to a random song on right click.

Reset Charge

The Reset Charge is an anti-lag tool that can be used to erase dimension definition files - if you place and activate one, the dimension you're in becomes "timebombed" which means it will be deleted on the next server restart. It is immediately unusable and all existing players rapidly start taking damage to get them out. HOWEVER, the chunk data is not erased, so if the dimension is reopened, all the block changes in there will still be present.

  • Obtained by throwing TNT into an Infinity Portal.
  • Activated by Shift + Right Click with an empty hand.
  • Right click picks them up.

They are not usable in non-infinite dimensions.

Star of Lang

A crafting catalyst for some of the mod's items; not consumed in crafting. Drops from the Bishop of Lang.

Swaggiest stairs (and slabs) ever

Ported from the original snapshot, these are crafted from netherite blocks. You can use a stonecutter too!

Transfinite Key

Transfinite Keys can be used to move and copy portals.

  • Throwing an Amethyst Shard into an Infinity Portal will give you a key linked to that dimension.
  • Throwing a Transfinite Key into a Nether or Infinity Portal will create a portal that links to the dimension stored inside the key.
  • Throwing one into iridescence while under its effect will create a rainbow key that opens a random dimension.

Transfinite Altar

Transfinite Altars have multiple unique purposes.

  • As a decorative block, they can be dyed by right clicking with a dye (like signs), and given a pattern on top by right clicking with a sunflower.
  • When a Biome Bottle is placed on them, they can be right clicked to release the biome inside to the surrounding area.
  • Placing an Ant Block on one summons a miniboss, the Bishop of Lang.
  • More purposes are to be implemented in combination with the Cosmic Altar!
