Damage conversion might be one of the more complicated or hidden mechanics, even if there are ways to see how it works!
There's a few mechanics here you need to know:
- If you attack with a basic attack doing physical damage, and you have added physical flat damage from somewhere, that flat damage will be added to the base damage
- If you have added damage of a different element, that damage will count as "bonus" damage, and it won't be converted because only the initial hit damage is converted
All Loot Modifiers:
Damage Layer | Explanation |
---|---|
Added Flat Damage | Stuff like + Added Fire Damage etc, or Bonus X Element Attack Damage stat |
Damage Conversion | After same element as base hit flat damage is added, it's then converted, the converted damage transfers into "bonus" damage |
Additional Damage | If there's any of the original element's damage left, this stat can be used. If you converted 100% of the damage, this stat will have nothing to add |
Additive Damage Modifiers | Afterwards, all the damage modifiers are added up into this |
Enemy Defenses | Now the enemy defense layers like Elemental Mitigation or Damage Reduction are applied |
Damage Multipliers | This includes all the damage stats with "More" in the name, so "+30% More Fire damage" becomes 1.3x multiplier, each multiplier is multiplicative with the others. |
So if you had another more stat like +50% More Total Damage, you calculate them by just doing: 1.3x * 1.5x etc |
You can see all this in your chat by enabling Damage Numbers under Features in the Main Hub!
