Unique weapons found as natural loot begin at Awakening level 0 by default. Feed the weapon Runic Tablets at a Runic Forge to restore its power, up to level 8.

What changes as a weapon awakens?

• Attack damage begins at 50% of its fully awakened value by default and rises with each level.
• Attack speed begins at 75% of its fully awakened value by default and rises with each level.
• Unique ability and socketed gem effectiveness scale with awakening.
• The Unique ability is sealed until level 4 by default.

The awakening outline around the tooltip's item frame shows current progress. Hold Alt to display the exact awakening level.

Legacy and special progression

Servers can disable Unique awakening. Ordinary Unique weapons then behave as level 8 at all times and cannot be placed in the Runic Forge.

The Lichblade and Dormant Relic families use persistent form progression of their own. Their Runic Forge transformations remain available even when ordinary Unique awakening is disabled.

All values above are defaults. Addon weapons may define a different starting curve or unlock level.
