Purging is a mob effect that you get from the Potion of Purging, which you get by brewing Rotten Flesh into an Awkward Potion.
It fully empties your hunger bar and removes all other potion effects for the duration.
Mob effects with the tag #excessive_utilities:purging_blacklist will not be removed. By default, only Purging itself has the tag.
