Grid Power, or GP, is a per-player power budget. GP does not move through cables or batteries. Blocks and items belong to a player, producers add capacity to that player's grid, and consumers reserve part of that capacity while they are active.
If your GP usage is higher than your GP capacity, your grid is overloaded. Overloaded GP consumers stop working until usage drops or you add more generation.
Checking Your Grid
Your current GP is shown as:
used / capacity GP
The HUD appears when you hold a GP display item, such as the Power Manager, or look at a block tagged to show GP. If the display is red, your grid is overloaded.
Use the Power Manager to print the current producers and consumers in chat. It lists the blocks and items currently contributing to your grid, along with their positions when available.
Sharing Grid Power
Players can form a shared grid that combines every member's GP capacity and usage. Blocks and items remain owned by the player who placed or used them; joining or leaving a shared grid only changes which totals are combined.
Use /excessive-utilities grid invite <player> to invite an online player. A solo player who sends the first accepted invitation becomes the grid owner. Only the owner can invite or remove members.

Any member can leave while the owner is offline. If the owner leaves, another member becomes the owner. When only one player remains, the shared group is removed and that player returns to a solo grid. Leaving or being removed does not change ownership of anything you placed.
Grid groups are saved with the world. Invitations are temporary and are cleared when the server restarts.
Producers
GP generators are owned by the player who placed them. These are the default generation values:

Consumers
GP consumers only reserve power while they have work to do. These are common default costs:

Other GP-powered machines and transfer nodes also reserve GP while active. The Power Manager is the easiest way to find the exact active drain in-game.
Overload Effects
Overload checks compare total usage to total capacity for your solo or shared grid.
- The Angel Ring removes its creative-flight effect while overloaded.
- The Resonator pauses progress while overloaded.
- GP-powered blocks that check overload will stop doing work until enough GP is available again.
Adding generation, waiting for temporary consumers to finish, or disabling/removing consumers clears the overload.
Practical Setup
Start with a Manual Mill or environmental mills to build a small capacity buffer. For early flight items, remember that Chicken Wing Ring and Ring of the Flying Squid only draw GP while actively used, while the Angel Ring draws GP whenever you are flying.
For machines, keep some spare capacity above the listed recipe or machine cost. Speed Upgrades increase throughput but also add GP drain, so a machine that works without upgrades can overload after upgrades are inserted.
