Salt Block is a gravity-affected block found in all aquatic biomes (tagged with c:is_aquatic), in patches in shallow surface water.

Salt blocks can be mined with any item, but shovels are quickest. Breaking a salt block with a regular tool drops 2–4 salt. The Fortune enchantment increases the chance of getting more salt within this range, but does not increase the maximum amount. Using a tool with Silk Touch makes the block drop itself instead.

Salt blocks are found at the bottoms of all aquatic biomes (tagged with c:is_aquatic) in disk-like formations, disregarding adjacency to other types of blocks.

Usage

If the supporting block below a salt block is removed, it falls until it lands on the next available block. More specifically, the salt block becomes a "falling block" entity, which is affected by gravity. When the falling block lands on a solid block, it becomes a block again.
