Overview

The Vista Goggles provide advanced night vision capabilities combined with combat awareness and movement speed enhancement. Taking damage highlights nearby hostile entities, while carrying music discs and cassettes in your inventory grants significant movement speed bonuses and auto-step abilities.

• Night Vision: Provides clear vision in complete darkness

• Maximum Charge: 1800 energy units
• Rechargeable: Uses Spider Eyes, Fermented Spider Eyes, or Glowstone Dust
• Versatile Equipment: Can be worn as helmet or in curios/trinket slot

Enhanced Features

• +2 Armor Protection: Improved defense compared to base goggles
• Damage Detection: Highlights hostile entities when you take damage
• Music Disc Speed Bonus: Each unique disc grants 10% movement speed
• Cassette Speed Bonus: Each unique cassette grants 20% movement speed
• Auto-Step: Automatically walk up 1-block high obstacles

Special Abilities

Hostile Entity Highlighting

When you take damage while wearing active Vista Goggles:

• Trigger: Taking damage from any source
• Range: 30 block radius
• Target: All MONSTER category entities (zombies, skeletons, creepers, etc.)
• Effect: Glowing effect for 10 seconds
• No Cost: Free activation, no energy consumed

Movement Speed System

The Vista Goggles provide dynamic movement speed based on your inventory contents:

Music Discs

• Per Unique Disc: +10% movement speed
• Example: 2 different discs = +20% speed
• Counts: All vanilla and modded music discs

Cassettes (Vista Mod)

• Per Unique Cassette: +20% movement speed
• Example: 1 cassette = +20% speed
• Requires: Vista mod installed
• Optional: Works without Vista mod installed

Combined Bonus

• Music discs and cassettes stack together
• Example: 2 discs + 1 cassette = 10% + 10% + 20% = +40% total speed
• Only unique items count (duplicates don't add extra speed)

Auto-Step Ability

When the Vista Goggles are active, you can automatically walk up 1-block high obstacles:

• Like a Horse: Step up full blocks without jumping
• Works on: All 1-block high obstacles (slabs, stairs, full blocks)
• Activation: Automatic when goggles are active
• Version-specific: Uses appropriate Minecraft attribute system

The Vista Goggles are crafted by upgrading the base Night Vision Goggles with additional materials.

Usage

Equipping

• Place in helmet armor slot for all bonuses
• Alternatively, equip in curios/trinket slot if you have compatible mods installed
• Right-click while equipped to cycle through modes

Mode Switching

• ON: Continuously active night vision, speed bonuses, and auto-step
• OFF: Completely disabled, conserves energy
• AUTO: Automatically activates in darkness (light level < 7)

Maximizing Speed Bonus

1. Collect various music discs from dungeons, mansions, and bastions
2. Optionally obtain Vista cassettes if the mod is installed
3. Keep unique discs/cassettes in your inventory
4. Activate the goggles to gain speed based on collection size

Combat Awareness

• Wear goggles during combat
• When damaged, nearby enemies automatically glow
• Use the 10-second window to assess threats and plan your response

Energy Management

• Monitor energy level through the HUD display
• Speed bonus and highlighting don't consume extra energy
• Recharge using:
  • Spider Eyes
  • Fermented Spider Eyes
  • Glowstone Dust
