Dyeberries are colorful cave-vine berries that can recolor Scoochworms and temporarily tint living creatures.
Berry-bearing Cave Vines have a small chance to become Dyeberry Vines when they generate or grow. The usual varieties are green, blue, red, yellow, magenta, and cyan, though an exceptionally rare vine may grow Aaronberries instead.
Harvest ripe Dyeberry Vines just like ordinary Cave Vines. Each harvest drops one berry matching the vine's color. The vine remains in place and can grow berries again. Dyeberries can also be placed on the underside of a block to start a new vine of the same color. Dyeberry Vines and ordinary Cave Vines can grow into and connect with one another.
Uses
Use a Dyeberry on any part of a Scoochworm to change its color. The berry is consumed unless the Scoochworm is already that color.
Dyeberries can be eaten even at full hunger. They restore 2 hunger points and apply their matching Dyed effect for one minute, tinting the creature that ate them. Only one Dyed effect can be active at a time.
Brewing a green, blue, red, yellow, magenta, or cyan Dyeberry with an Awkward Potion creates a potion of the matching color. These potions apply their Dyed effect for five minutes.
