Geosternbergia is a genus of pterosaur from the Late Cretaceous period, with fossils discovered in what is now Kansas, United States, within the ancient Western Interior Seaway. Formerly classified as a species of Pteranodon, it was reclassified as its own genus based on distinctive cranial features, most notably the dramatic difference in crest shape and size between males and females. It was a large, toothless pterosaur that soared over open water, swooping down to catch fish near the surface.

Appearance

• Large pterosaur with broad, pointed wings, a long toothless beak, and strong clawed feet
• Warm golden-tan to olive colouring across the body, wings, and limbs, with darker brown-black wingtips
• Displays strong sexual dimorphism in both size and colouration:
• Males are significantly larger, with a prominent bright red crest on top of the head, vivid red and black facial colouring with speckled red markings around the beak, and a striking black and white striped pattern on the underwings
• Females are smaller, with a blue-grey head and neck, a lighter grey-white throat and chest, a subtle white stripe along the underwing, and a yellowish-green eye
• In-game size: 1 block long, 1 block tall (Female) | 2 blocks long, 2 blocks tall (Male)

Behavior

• Passive: Does not attack players or other creatures unprovoked
• Likely roosts on cliffs or coastlines and takes to the air to hunt fish over open water

Obtaining

Geosternbergia does not spawn naturally. To obtain one, you must:

1. Enable Experimental Features
2. Find Geosternbergia Remains or fossils
3. Use the fossil revival process to create a Geosternbergia
4. Hatch from an Alligator Egg type egg

Diet

• Piscivore: feeds on fish
• Hunts by swooping low over the water's surface to snatch fish with its long beak
