Runefused and Netherfused gems add a second power to compatible weapons. Each gem requires a matching socket.

How do I know if my weapon has gem sockets?

Hold Alt while viewing the weapon tooltip. Any Runefused or Netherfused socket appears in the extended information.

With gem sockets enabled, built-in Unique weapons receive both socket types by default. Modpack authors can also grant sockets to vanilla or modded items by adding item IDs or item tags to the additionalGemSocketItems configuration list.

How do I obtain a gem?

Create a gem in a smithing table with the following ingredients:

• Runefused Gem: Runic Tablet template, Empowered Remnant base, and Crying Obsidian addition.
• Netherfused Gem: Runic Tablet template, Empowered Remnant base, and Netherite Ingot addition.

Smelting a Unique weapon produces an Empowered Remnant. A newly created gem rolls a power from its corresponding power pool.

How do I socket or replace a gem?

Pick up the gem with the cursor in your inventory, then click a compatible weapon. If that socket already contains a gem, the new gem replaces it and the old gem is returned to your inventory. This works in both Survival and Creative mode.

The Runic Forge provides an alternative. Inserting a weapon extracts its current gems into the two forge slots. You can then add, remove, or exchange them before taking the previewed weapon.

How does awakening affect gem powers?

Gem powers on Unique weapons scale with the weapon's awakening level in the same way as its Unique ability. Runic weapons always use full Runic-power strength, equivalent to a fully awakened Unique weapon.

How do active powers work?

Active weapon powers use the Use Mainhand Weapon Ability and Use Offhand Weapon Ability controls. If these controls are left unbound, compatible powers retain their normal item-use activation. Separate controls allow active powers to function correctly while dual wielding.
