Arcane Lens

A spellcasting mod built around the Magic Lens: learn spells, explore an old library dungeon, take down a sleeping god for its power, and earn the favor (or attention) of something that's begun to watch you.

Core spellcasting

  • Magic Lens — the central item; equip up to 5 spells at once, cast and cycle through them with keybinds.
  • A mana system with capacity that grows as you merge lenses together, up to a 5x merge tier.
  • 17 unique spells spanning offense, utility, and support — from Fireball and Chain Lightning to Heal, Blink, and Invisibility.
  • Ancient Spell Books, found in the dungeon, to learn new spells.
  • The Diamond Engraver and Inscription Workbench for duplicating or customizing a lens's spell loadout.
  • A Lens Combiner to merge two lenses into one, raising max mana and slot count.

Mana infrastructure

  • Soul Pedestal — burns soul sand and items to generate mana.
  • Lens Pedestal — charges a placed lens automatically, linked to nearby Soul Pedestals.
  • Soul Feeder — auto-feeds items into a linked Soul Pedestal so you don't have to restock by hand.

Exploration

Read the full writeup in Dungeon and Bosses:

  • A library with an entrance to a multi-room dungeon full of tunnels, treasure rooms, and dangers.
  • A standalone Faith Shrine structure.
  • A sunken boss chamber holding The One Who Sleeps.
Spoilers — what comes after the boss
  • Faith and the Hunger — burn items at Faith Altars for Faith, with diminishing returns to discourage bulk-farming a single item; a watching presence begins after The One Who Sleeps falls, scaling with Faith and repeat kills.
  • The Skill Tree — unlocked through the Hunger's Pact, spending Arcane Ink on nodes like Mana Boost, Cost/Cooldown Reduction, the Pocket Dimension spell, Networked Storage, and the Arcane Assembler.
  • Networked Storage — Living Chests, Storage Connectors, and Living Terminals for a shared, searchable item network.
  • The Overload Ritual — push a storage network to capacity to tear open a portal to the Warped Hollow, a whole second dimension with its own boss, Broken Vessel — see Dungeon and Bosses.
  • The Pantheon — pledge your faith to one of five gods (Hunger, Florian, Aurelia, Quetzera, or Janus), each granting its own permanent perk track.

Lore

Read the full story in Lore — the Sleeping God, the Warping, the Hunger, and the Pantheon, told in the order you're meant to uncover it.

Add-ons

  • Endless Dungeon — a separate add-on that requires Arcane Lens: a truly endless, real-time procedurally-generated dungeon dimension.
