Flesh Mound

How to make a Flesh Mound

A Flesh Mound will always grow as long the Primordial Cradle has ample amount of primal energy stored and any malignant flesh veins are present nearby.

The general advice for starting a flesh mound, is to feed the cradle with a Nether Star (item with the most life energy) and perform a sacrifice. It doesn't matter if the sacrifice fails or succeeds as long there are any malignant flesh veins nearby.

If the mound stops growing, more often than not, it is because the cradle has run out of primal energy to utilize, to which, you can sacrifice again life energy rich items.

Mound Shapes and Sizes

Every Cradle has a set seed for the Flesh Mound it will produce, which is determined when it is first placed. Even after breaking and moving the cradle, it will still retain that seed. However, you can craft the cradle with a Cleansing Serum to reset the seed.

The Mound-seed is directly influenced by the temperature of the biome it was placed in. Hot biomes (e.g. desert, nether, etc.) cause the mound to form tall and narrow, while cold biomes (e.g. tundras, taiga forests, etc.) cause the Mound to be wider and shorter.

Containment Procedures

Despite the occasional misconception, Biomancy’s Flesh Mound is not quite an "Infection Mod", and it is limited in how far it can reach (due to the set seed). However, it can still make quite the mess, especially with Primal Bloom present.

Preventative measures can be taken, and it should be noted that while the cradle can destroy soft blocks like dirt, it cannot destroy blocks of "cobblestone/wood plank toughness" or higher. It uses the following block tag biomancy:flesh_replaceable to determine which blocks it is allowed to destroy. Take advantage of this, and create observation chambers, or keep this in mind when trying to get Primal Orifice to generate.

A double layer of any stone or glass is enough to contain it. To fully prevent the growth of the mound either wait for the energy of the cradle to run dry or remove the cradle entirely.

Misc

  • Flesh mounds can grow bone blocks as part of chamber structures
  • Primordial flesh blocks tend to form in the interior of the mound after the exterior of the mound starts to take shape, replacing malignant flesh in the process.
