Parasuchus is a genus of phytosaur from the Late Triassic period, with fossils discovered in what is now India.
Despite their striking resemblance to modern crocodilians, phytosaurs belong to an entirely separate lineage of archosauriformes and are not closely related to crocodiles.
Parasuchus possessed a long, narrow snout lined with sharp teeth, well suited for catching fish and small prey near rivers and floodplains.

Appearance

• Long, low-slung body with a broad, flat snout lined with sharp, interlocking teeth
• Prominent dorsal scutes and ridges running the length of the back and tail
• Displays sexual dimorphism in coloration:
• Males are near-black with a very subtle warm brownish hue on the flanks and a dark grey underside
• Females are similarly near-black with a slightly cooler charcoal tone and dark grey underside, nearly indistinguishable from males
• The Arid cosmetic variant has a warm medium brown body with darker brown dorsal scutes and ridges, and a pale beige-grey underside
• In-game size: 4 blocks long and 1 block tall

Behavior

• Hostile: Attacks players and small creatures on sight
• Lurks near water sources, ambushing prey that approaches to drink
• Low profile and slow movement on land; considerably more dangerous near rivers and wetlands

Obtaining

Parasuchus does not spawn naturally. To obtain one, you must:

1. Find Parasuchus Remains or fossils
2. Use the fossil revival process to create a Parasuchus
3. Hatch from an Alligator Egg type egg

Diet

• Carnivore: feeds on meat sources
• An ambush predator that likely targeted fish and small animals near waterways

• Parasuchus lived in the Late Triassic of what is now India, belonging to an order of archosauriformes called Phytosauria, which despite looking like crocodiles, were a completely separate lineage!
• Parasuchus was initially deemed a chimera, meaning it would've been actually multiple animals that were mistaken as only one, until new fossils of it were described in the late 1970s!
