Postosuchus is a genus of rauisuchid archosaur from the Late Triassic period, with fossils discovered in what is now Texas and North Carolina, United States. Despite its superficial resemblance to large theropod dinosaurs, Postosuchus was a member of Pseudosuchia — the lineage that would eventually give rise to modern crocodilians — making it far more closely related to crocodiles than to any dinosaur. It is considered one of the apex predators of its time, capable of walking semi-upright on its hind legs.

Appearance

• Large, low-slung archosaur with a broad, robust head lined with sharp, laterally compressed teeth
• A prominent row of small dark dorsal spines runs the full length of the back and tail
• Dark olive-green colouration on the dorsal surface, fading gradually to warm golden-yellow on the flanks, belly, and legs
• Displays very subtle sexual dimorphism:
• Males have slightly more saturated, brighter golden-yellow flanks
• Females are marginally more muted in tone overall, otherwise nearly identical to males
• In-game size: 6 blocks long and 2 blocks tall

Behavior

• Hostile: Actively attacks players and nearby creatures on sight
• A powerful apex predator, capable of pursuing and overpowering prey with its strong jaws
• May be capable of rearing up on its hind legs to strike

Obtaining

Postosuchus does not spawn naturally. To obtain one, you must:

1. Enable Experimental Features
2. Find Postosuchus Remains or fossils
3. Use the fossil revival process to create a Postosuchus
4. Hatch from an Alligator Egg type egg

Diet

• Carnivore: feeds on meat sources
• An apex predator of the Late Triassic, likely preying on large dicynodonts, aetosaurs, and early dinosaurs
