A large multiblock that generates power from sunlight. Features a folding animation that activates based on time of day and light levels.

Usage

Build the 3x3 multiblock structure using machine cores. The panel automatically generates energy during the day when it has a clear view of the sky.

Folding Mechanic

The panel folds and unfolds based on conditions:

• Unfolded (Active): Day time with light level >= 12
• Folded (Inactive): Night or low light

Core quality directly affects power generation rate.

The base generation rate is 32 RF/t, multiplied by the core quality. In practice this means the panel scales from 32 RF/t up to 224 RF/t depending on the installed cores.

Construction

Requires a 3x3 area. Place the controller and add the required cores.

Solar is good for background power because it consumes no fuel, but it should usually be paired with stored power or fuel-based backup for night operation.

Energy outputs to the North, South, and Down sides.
