The Speed Addon is used to accelerate the processing time of a machine. With the default additive addon setting, it adds 50% speed, meaning the machine runs at 150% of its normal speed. A recipe that would normally take 100 ticks will therefore finish in about 67 ticks.

This performance boost comes at the cost of energy efficiency, increasing the energy consumption of the machine by 20%. Multiple speed addons can be used on a single machine to further increase total speed.

Applicable to all machines that consume energy each tick they work.

Processing multiplied

When multiple speed addons are used, their speed bonuses are added together. For example, two speed addons give a total speed bonus of +100%, so the machine runs at 200% speed and a 100-tick recipe finishes in 50 ticks. This allows much faster processing at the cost of significantly higher power requirements.
