The drone port enables long-range logistics by transporting items and fluids via autonomous flying drones. It requires a matching drone port at both the takeoff and landing positions.
Logistics and Targeting
To establish a connection, use a target designator to bind a sending port to a specific destination. Target ports must be at least 50 blocks away and located in chunk-loaded areas. While a port can only send to one destination, it can receive shipments from multiple external ports. However if one port is continuously sending items, it can "clog" a target port and prevent shipments from other ports from arriving.
Energy and Upgrades
- Travel Cost: Delivery time is constant, but the energy
consumption scales with distance according to
sqrt(distance) * 50 + 1024RF. - Fluid Transport: To carry liquids, both the sending and receiving ports must be equipped with a fluid addon.
- Automation: Attaching a redstone addon allows for monitoring of inventory levels and operational status.
Redstone Control Modes
The redstone addon enables advanced comparator outputs:
- Power Measure: Signal strength based on stored energy.
- Inventory Slot Measure: Signal strength based on the largest amount of material (item or fluid).
- Progress Measure: Signal based on operation progress.
- Activity Measure: Signal based on state (idle, sending, receiving).
- Input Control: Powering the addon prevents the port from sending or receiving.
