Deinosuchus was a colossal crocodylian from the Late Cretaceous, one of the largest predators of its ecosystem despite not being a dinosaur. It lurked in rivers, swamps, and coastal waters, ambushing anything unlucky enough to wander too close to the water's edge. Its sheer size and bite force allowed it to prey on creatures many other predators wouldn't dare challenge.
Appearance
- Massive, heavily built crocodylian body with a long, powerful tail
- Rows of thick, bony armored plates (osteoderms) running down its back and tail
- Elongated snout lined with large, banana-sized conical teeth
- Short, sturdy legs suited for lurking submerged and lunging explosively onto land
- Dark olive-brown coloration with mottled, camouflage-like patterning
- In-game size: 12 blocks long and 1 block tall
Behavior
- Hostile: will attack players and other creatures on sight
- Acts as an ambush predator, lurking beneath the water's surface before striking
- Uses its immense bite force to seize and drag prey underwater
- Known to prey on both fish and unwary dinosaurs that stray too close to lakes, rivers, and coastlines
Obtaining
Deinosuchus does not spawn naturally. To obtain one, you must:
- Enable Experimental Features
- Find
Deinosuchus Remains or fossils
- Use the fossil revival process to create a Deinosuchus
- Hatch from a Alligator Egg type egg
Diet
- Piscivore: feeds primarily on
fish sources - Also ambushes and preys on dinosaurs that venture too near the water
Drops
When defeated, Deinosuchus may drop:

- Deinosuchus was among one of the largest Crocodylomorphs to ever exist, only rivaled by Purussaurus!
- Deinosuchus used it's large banana-sized teeth to take down large prey, such as dinosaurs like Edmontonia and Kritosaurus!
- Deinosuchus was present at both sides of the Western Interior Seaway, adding onto the list of nightmarish creatures that lived on it!
