Alamosaurus, meaning "Ojo Alamo lizard," is a genus of titanosaurian sauropod dinosaur containing a single known species, Alamosaurus sanjuanensis. It lived during the Late Cretaceous and was one of the last surviving sauropods in North America.
Appearance
- Enormous titanosaur with a very long neck, barrel-shaped body, and a long tapering tail
- Thick, column-like legs supporting its massive frame, with warm sandy-tan colouration on the legs and underside
- Dark charcoal-grey mottled patterning across the back, neck, and flanks, with lighter grey speckles throughout
- Small dorsal spines run along the ridge of the back
- Displays subtle sexual dimorphism in coloration:
- Males and Females share the same dark mottled pattern, with males appearing very slightly deeper and more uniformly dark along the dorsal region
- Babies are noticeably different — smaller and more compact, with a warm sandy-brown base and bold dark grey-brown blotchy patterning across the back and sides
- In-game size: 28 blocks long and 17 blocks tall, making it one of the largest creatures in Jurassic Saga
Behavior
- Neutral: Will not attack unless provoked
- If attacked, it retaliates with powerful attacks
- Slow-moving but extremely strong
- Often found roaming open plains or semi-arid environments

Mr. DNA's Fun Trivia
- It is likely that Tyrannosaurus preyed on Alamosaurus occasionally, but a fully grown Alamosaurus would certainly pose a big challenge to it!
- Alamosaurus was a Titanosaurian, a clade of Sauropods that includes some of the largest to ever exist, like Argentinosaurus and Patagotitan!
- Alamosaurus gets its name from the formation it was found in, the Ojo Alamo formation!
- The skeletons seen in the entrance of the Visitor Center in Jurassic Park features an Alamosaurus fighting a Tyrannosaurus.[4]
