Fluid Definitions are used to tell the mod about all the different objects related to a fluid, such as fluid buckets or cauldrons, as well as defining a few default settings for a fluid.
Setup
Create a new JSON file in the assets/{namespace}/subtle_effects/fluid_definitions folder of a resource pack.
Inside this file, add the source and flowing string elements. These elements are the minimum requirement for a fluid
definition and define the IDs of the source and flowing fluid types.
{"source": "minecraft:water","flowing": "minecraft:flowing_water"}
| Name | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
source | Yes | String ID of a source fluid |
flowing | Yes | String ID of a flowing fluid |
cauldron | No | String ID of a block that inherits from the AbstractCauldronBlock class |
splash_type | No | String ID of a Splash Type. The ID for a splash type is the namespace defining it followed by the path relative to the /subtle_effects/splash_types folder. For example, the path for the water splash type is: assets/minecraft/subtle_effects/splash_types/water_splash.json and it's ID is: minecraft:water. For a splash type in a subfolder e.g. assets/examplepack/subtle_effects/splash_types/example_path/example.json the ID would be: examplepack:example_path/example |
bucket_item | No | String ID of an item that inherits from the BucketItem class |
droplets | No | A Droplet Options object used for bucket interaction effects and as a fallback for Splash Types |
light_emission | No | Integer from 0 to 15. Controls brightness for splash particles |
