Apatosaurus was a massive, long-necked sauropod from the Late Jurassic period. Known for its enormous size and whip-like tail, it lived in herds and fed on low- to mid-level vegetation. Fossils of Apatosaurus have been discovered in North America and Europe, making it one of the most iconic sauropods of its time.

Appearance

• Long neck and heavy body, adapted for browsing vegetation
• Thick legs to support its immense weight
• Tail used for balance and possibly defense
• In-game size: 29 blocks long and 7 blocks tall

Behavior

• Neutral: Will not attack unless provoked
• Moves slowly in herds, grazing on leaves and plant matter
• Occasionally rests or sleeps, reflecting herd life

Obtaining

Apatosaurus does not spawn naturally. To obtain one, you must:

1. Find Apatosaurus Remains or fossils
2. Use the fossil revival process to create an Apatosaurus
3. Hatch from an Ostrich Egg type egg

Diet

• Herbivore: feeds primarily on Leaves
• Will graze on low-lying plants and foliage

• Apatosaurus was the first dinosaur discovered from the Carnegie Quarry, when Paleontologist Earl Douglass found eight articulated tail vertebrae of it!
• Apatosaurus lived in what is now the Morrison Formation of North America, alongside animals like Stegosaurus, Allosaurus and its cousin Diplodocus!
• For over a century, Brontosaurus was thought to have been synonymous with Apatosaurus, however, recent studies have concluded that they were separate genera!
• The Apatosaurus Ocean cosmetic skin is based on the Brontosaurus seen in King Kong (2005).^[1]
• While Apatosaurus is technically a Jurassic World era animal, it is included in Update 1 due to its appearance in some versions of the Jurassic Park novel.^[2]
