Carcharodontosaurus, meaning "shark-toothed lizard," is a genus of massive carcharodontosaurid theropod dinosaur containing two known species, with Carcharodontosaurus saharicus being the most well-known. It lived during the Late Cretaceous of North Africa and was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs to ever walk the Earth, rivaling even Tyrannosaurus and Spinosaurus in size.

Appearance

• Enormous theropod with a deep, elongated skull filled with serrated, blade-like teeth
• Relatively small arms compared to its massive body, similar in proportion to other large theropods
• Powerfully built hind limbs supporting its immense weight
• In-game size: 21 blocks long and 6 blocks tall, making it one of the largest predators in Jurassic Saga

Behavior

• Hostile: Will attack players and most mobs on sight
• Extremely aggressive apex predator, chasing prey over long distances
• Due to its enormous size and health pool, it is one of the most dangerous creatures in the mod

Obtaining

Carcharodontosaurus does not spawn naturally. To obtain one, you must:

1. Enable Experimental Features
2. Find Carcharodontosaurus Remains or fossils
3. Use the fossil revival process to create a Carcharodontosaurus
4. Hatch from an Ostrich Egg type egg

Diet

• Carnivore: feeds on meat sources
• Apex predator capable of hunting large prey, and will scavenge when necessary

• Carcharodontosaurus was the only other predator able to compete with Spinosaurus in their ecosystem!
• Carcharodontosaurus' name can actually mean both Sharp-Toothed Lizard and Shark-Toothed Lizard due to how Carcharodon, being the genus of Great White Sharks, means sharp-toothed itself!
• Carcharodontosaurus was one of the largest dinosaurs to ever exist, being only behind Spinosaurus, Tyrannosaurus and some of it's cousins such as Giganotosaurus and Mapusaurus!
• Carcharodontosaurus was discovered in early April 1914 by Austro-Hungarian paleontologist Richard Markgraf. It would later be described by German paleontologist Ernst Stromer, the same person who discovered Spinosaurus two years prior.
• Carcharodontosaurus's appearance in Jurassic Saga is based on it's depiction seen in the 2003 video game Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis
• Carcharodontosaurus's translated name is often misinterpreted as "Shark-toothed" due to being named after the genus name of the Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias)
