Ceratosaurus is a genus of carnivorous theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period in North America and Europe. It is easily recognized by the distinctive horn on its snout and its powerful, agile build, making it a versatile predator of its time.
Appearance
- Prominent nasal horn and smaller brow horns above the eyes
- Deep, robust skull with sharp serrated teeth
- Muscular body with strong hind limbs built for sprinting
- Long tail used for balance during fast pursuits
- In-game size: 10 blocks long and 5 blocks tall
Behavior
- Hostile: Will attack players and most mobs on sight
- Hunts medium-sized creatures and will chase prey over long distances
- Roars periodically to assert dominance and intimidate nearby mobs
- May patrol its territory, especially near forests or riverbanks
Obtaining
Ceratosaurus does not spawn naturally. To obtain one, you must:
- Enable Experimental Features
- Find
Ceratosaurus Remains or fossils
- Use the fossil revival process to create a Ceratosaurus
- Hatch from an Alligator Egg type egg
Diet
- Carnivore: feeds on
meat sources - Prefers medium to large prey but will scavenge if necessary

Mr. DNA's Fun Trivia
- The achievement "Nash's Resting Place" is a reference to the Ceratosaurus named Nash from Disney's Dinosaur (2000), who meets his demise in the film
- The Tropical Cosmetic Skin is based on one of the earliest depiction of Ceratosaurus in Jurassic Park media, the Kenner Die-Cast series from 1993
- Ceratosaurus is characterized by it's ridge-like horn and it's deep jaws that support proportionally very long and blade-like teeth!
- Ceratosaurus is currently the only theropod that we know possessed osteoderms, with it's osteoderms being located along it's back in a row going from it's spine to the tail!
- Ceratosaurus lived in what are now the Morrison Formation and the Lourinhã Formation, alongside animals like Miragaia, Allosaurus, and Torvosaurus!
