Baryonyx is a genus of theropod dinosaur that lived during the Barremian stage of the Early Cretaceous, around 130–125 million years ago. Its first skeleton was discovered in 1983 in Surrey, England, making it one of the most complete spinosaurid fossils ever found.
Appearance
- Long, crocodile-like snout filled with conical teeth
- Large claws on the forelimbs, including the iconic 30 cm "heavy claw"
- Semi-aquatic build with a narrow skull and strong arms
- In-game size: 10 blocks long, 3 blocks tall
Behavior
- Hostile: Will attack players and most mobs on sight
- Prefers to stay near rivers, lakes, and wetlands
- Uses its claws and bite in combat, making it dangerous at close range
Obtaining
Baryonyx does not spawn naturally. To obtain one, you must:
- Find
Baryonyx Remains or fossils
- Use the fossil revival process to create a Baryonyx
- Hatch from an Alligator Egg type egg
Diet
- Carnivore: feeds on
meat sources - Specializes in fish but will eat meat of any kind

Mr. DNA's Fun Trivia
- The Legacy skin comes from the old JurassiCraft Male Baryonyx Skin[3] (Shoutout to @rodmega10 on Discord for pointing it out!)
- Baryonyx's name "Heavy Claw", references it's big claw, characteristic of Baryonychines, which was primarily used for catching prey, such as Lepidotes!
- Baryonyx lived alongside two of it's spinosaurid relatives, those being Ceratosuchops and Riparovenator!
- Baryonyx was discovered by a plumber, William J. Walker, who was also an amateur fossil hunter at the time!
