Mr.DNA Mr. DNA's Fun Trivia

  • Dracovenator has close relation with Dilophosaurus, being a member of Dilophosauridae, alongside Dilophosaurus, of course!
  • Dracovenator is only known from very fragmentary remains and a juvenile's snout, making it quite enigmatic compared to it's cousin Dilophosaurus!
  • Dracovenator was discovered in 1981 by James Kitching, in South Africa. It's name has an interesting origin, while by itself it means "dragon hunter" it also refers to its discovery in the foothills of Drakensberg, which is "Dragon's Mountain" in the Dutch language, while "regenti" is named after Professor Kitching's assistant: Regent 'Lucas' Huma.
  • Dracovenator's appearance in Jurassic Saga is based on the 1990 novel depiction of Dilophosaurus.
  • During the development of the mod, Dracovenator used to use Sinosaurus's name.
  • The Rainforest and Ocean cosmetic skins are based respectively on Primal Carnage and Dino D-Day.
