The Adventurer's Guild

Villages with a guild hall have a place where adventurers get work, get ranked and get a better deal from every villager.

The hall

Guild halls generate in plains, savanna, taiga, desert and snowy villages. Inside is a guild desk and a guild clerk, a villager whose workstation is the desk.

When a clerk first appears, their level is rolled: level 1 about 35% of the time, then 30%, 20%, 10% and 5% for levels 2 to 5. A higher level means harder work on the board. Clerks gain levels from the quests you hand in to them.

Fame and rank

Doing guild work earns fame. Fame sets your rank, and rank sets your discount.

E01010%
D1002020%
C3004030%
B8008050%
A200015070%

Winning a village raid is worth 200 fame, paid when the Hero of the Village effect arrives. It is paid once per raid.

Fame is yours alone, unless you are on an FTB Teams team. Then every member of the team gets what one of you earns.

The Adventurer's Permit

The clerk sells an Adventurer's Permit for 5 emeralds. It binds to the first player who carries it, so it cannot be passed on. Its tooltip shows the owner and the owner's rank, and an S-rank permit glows.

While the owner carries it, every villager's prices drop by the discount for their rank. The discount does not stack with Hero of the Village. Whichever is larger applies.

The quest board

Every dawn, each clerk with a loaded desk posts quest papers. They go into any item frame within 10 blocks of the desk that is empty, or whose paper has gone stale. Hang a few frames around the hall and you have a board.

  • A level 1 clerk posts quests up to rank D, and each level adds a rank, up to S at level 5. A clerk favours ranks close to that top rank.
  • A paper goes stale after 3 days and is replaced at the next dawn.
  • The first player to carry a paper claims it. Nobody else can hand it in.
  • A paper tells you what it asks. Statistic quests, such as kills, count from the moment you claim the paper. Delivery quests count what you carry in your main inventory, and only undamaged items count.
  • You can hand in quests up to one rank above your own. A paper that is too high tells you what rank it needs.

To hand a quest in, right-click the clerk with the paper in your hand. You are paid in fame, not items. The clerk gains experience from the job, so busy clerks level up.

If a claimed paper has been put back in a frame and goes stale, the frame drops it as an item when it is refreshed.

For pack makers

Quests are datapack files in data/isekubed/guild_quests/. The file name is the quest's id.

FieldMeaning
descriptionThe text on the paper. A language key or plain text. %s is replaced by the amount
rankE, D, C, B, A or S
typestat or deliver
task, task_paramFor stat only: a statistic type and what it is about
item or tagFor deliver only: exactly one of them
task_qtyOne amount, or [min, max]. Each paper rolls its own. 1 to 3456
weightOptional. How often it is picked. Default 1. 0 means never posted

A stat quest names task and task_param, and neither item nor tag. A deliver quest is the opposite.

An invented example, a kill quest:

{
"description": "Put down %s drowned",
"rank": "D",
"type": "stat",
"task": "minecraft:killed",
"task_param": "minecraft:drowned",
"task_qty": [8, 16]
}

And a delivery quest:

{
"description": "The kitchen needs %s cod",
"rank": "E",
"type": "deliver",
"item": "minecraft:cod",
"task_qty": 12,
"weight": 3
}

Admins can read or set a player's fame with /ik guild fame <player> [amount].
