Mr.DNA Mr. DNA's Fun Trivia

  • Tylosaurus was the 2nd largest mosasaur to ever live, only being beaten by it's cousin Mosasaurus itself!
  • Tylosaurus preyed on prehistoric sharks, like Cretoxyrhina, and giant sea turtles, such as Protostega!
  • The average adult Tylosaurus could reach 5 to 10 tons! You wouldn't want to ever see one right in front of you though!
  • The achievement "Devil From The Deep" reflects Tylosaurus's role as a terrifying apex predator of ancient seas
  • Tylosaurus was one of the largest mosasaurs, with some specimens estimated at over 14 meters (45 feet) in length
  • Fossilized stomach contents show that Tylosaurus ate fish, sharks, plesiosaurs, and even other mosasaurs, making it a true oceanic apex predator
